You are a well-known and appreciated character not only on television. What were the main stages of this brilliant career?

«I had a very important experience, from 1979 to 1984, as an animator, journalist and presenter at Radio 24 in Zurich together with Roger Schawinski, the pioneer of Swiss private radio. A broadcaster that at the time represented a breaking point in the media landscape and where I was able to learn to master the medium and get to know all aspects of working in a newsroom. The next step was the entry into RSI / SRG SSR where over the years I have dealt with radio and television programs of animation, dissemination, in-depth analysis of current affairs, in the field of news and inquiries, debates and comparisons, thematic evenings, and much more… ».

Within CSR he has held numerous positions of great responsibility ...

«I can well say that I know a little everything about this company, of which I was able to appreciate the great professionalism and to follow its transformations that have gone hand in hand with the evolution of Swiss and Ticino companies. I was lucky enough to be able to conduct several broadcasts, early evenings, Sunday afternoons ... but I never wanted to leave the activity "on the field", I speak of Il Quotidiano, the program that offers regional news from a national perspective, trying to delve deeply into the reality of the country with reporters, interviews, and live links. It airs between 19.00 and 19.40 from 7 January 1985, when the old Regional, which had accompanied the viewers of Italian-speaking Switzerland since 1961, gave way to a new transmission, longer and on a daily basis, conceived by Michele Fazioli and by a team which included, among others, Eugenio Jelmini and Enrico Moresi ».

Without of course forgetting the in-depth broadcasts ...

«This has always been one of the strengths of CSR. I like to mention Superalbum, the program that I have been running on Saturday night on La2 since the opening of 2017, when I picked up the baton from Gianni delli Ponti, and which continues to offer the best of documentaries in the RSI archives. Thanks to a new formula, we have decided to introduce a guest in each episode, who can contextualize the proposed documentaries, but at the same time offer a current reading of themes and topics that the company has proposed in the past decades: the most beautiful documentaries related to the our territory, but also surveys and portraits that have made the history of our television. But I would also like to mention the Urban Walks, among other things proposed in a video-exhibition at the Limonaia of Villa Saroli. It was a strip that aired between 2014 and 2015 in Il Quotidiano that proposed a journey through Italian Switzerland, to discover its evolution and read its transformations, identifying visions for the future in the projects and works created. destined to change the way in which the territory is lived ».

But how has CSR changed over the years?

«I would say that if I think of the pioneering phase experienced since the mid-80s, practically everything has changed. Then, and for a long time, we were above all experimenters who had intuitions and ideas, some very valid and interesting, and who applied themselves to put them into practice, using all their skills and the technological resources that the television medium put to use. layout. Today we work in a much more structured production context and we use the most advanced solutions offered by digitization. The latest example of this renewal process is given by the recent inauguration of the new Studio - the House of Information RSI - from which, every day, the Newscast, Il Quotidiano, Info Notte, the Meteo are broadcast. An evolution necessary to keep up with the latest technologies, adapt to the new television languages and concentrate the production of all the daily information appointments, optimizing the planning of resources and production costs ».
